LENT

Lent is the season that spans 40 weekdays, beginning on Ash Wednesday and concluding on Easter Sunday. Lent is a time for the community of faith to be called to preparation to celebrate Easter. The forty days of Lent can be connected to many biblical events; but most closely with the forty days following his baptism that Jesus spent in the wilderness preparing for his public ministry. Christian’s are called to use this time to reflect and examine their lives and to repent.

Traditionally Lent is celebrated by prayer, fasting, and giving to those in need. It is especially a time to praise God’s marvelous victory over death at Easter and to celebrate our own resurrection to come as Christian’s, followers of the risen Christ.

Lent Worship Activities

March 5 @ 7:00 am Ash Wednesday Morning Service & Light Breakfast

Please join us on this day that marks the beginning of Lent for a relaxed worship service that will include a light breakfast. This time of prayer, scripture meditation, and praise in song will allow one the opportunity to reflect and prepare to begin the season of Lent. The service will conclude with communion and the administration of the ashes.

If you are unable to attend morning worship the sanctuary will be open and we invite you to come in anytime from 8 am to 7 pm to partake of communion and receive the ashes.

April 17 @ 7:00 pm Maundy Thursday Evening Service

Come and worship with us this day as we celebrate the Lord’s Supper and reflect on the events of the day leading up to Jesus Crucifixion and Resurrection. This service will allow for quiet reflection, meditation, self examination, as well as worship and praise to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

April 18 @ 6:45 am Good Friday Morning Worship Walk & Light Breakfast

Come out before work and take a walk and worship the Lord as we celebrate together the Stations of the Cross; Biblically reflecting on the steps of Christ on Good Friday Morning. You will find this a rewarding time of reflection and fellowship that will leave you with a worshipful heart all day long.  We will close by celebrating the Lord's Supper together.

Dress accordingly and wear walking shoes as we will be outside part of the time. The walk is not strenuous so all can participate (young and old). Following our worship we will enjoy a light breakfast together.
