Music at First Christian
Come, let us sing for joy to the LORD;
let us shout aloud to the Rock of our salvation.
Let us come before him with thanksgiving
and extol him with music and song. (Psalm 95:1-2)
First Christian Church seeks to follow this call to praise God in all our worship services. Music provides an opportunity for many to express their faith publicly as a member of the praise team, chancel choir, and in congregational worship. First Christian praises God through modern praise songs, traditional hymns, trios, duets, solos, and instrumental presentations.
The praise team uses a variety of accompaniment to voices; including guitars, percussion, and keyboard to lead the congregation in the praise of God. The organ and piano are central to worship at First Christian as well.
Praise Team: meets to rehearse on Thursday’s from 6:00pm-7:30pm. Anyone with an interest in singing contemporary praise music or who plays guitar or percussion is welcome to join this group. Just show up on Thursday with you voice or instrument!
Chancel Choir: meets to rehearse Thursday’s from 7:30pm-9:00pm. This group sings a blend of traditional hymns, contemporary pieces, gospel, and classical voice pieces. Anyone who would enjoy joining the choir is welcome to participate. Just show up ready to sing on Thursday!
Special Music: Our worship services also incorporate both voice and instrumental presentation by individuals and groups.
